Agriculture: The Growing Field of Agtech (10803)
The information age has met the agricultural economy, resulting in an agricultural revolution that is no less significant than the mechanization of farming during the industrial revolution. Modern farmers now use smartphones, collect big data, and rely on robots instead of pesticides. GPS and RFID technologies track, monitor and analyze crops and data. As the technology world meets the agricultural worlds, many producers find themselves dealing with new legal issues, such as privacy law, as well as new constituents such as venture capitalists, private equity, and technologists. This presentation will summarize the state of play in international AgTech and the legal issues that arise out of it.
