Hamish joined Truman Hoyle in July 2007 and is recognised by leading London-based publication PLC Global Which Lawyer as one of Australia’s leading practitioners in telecommunications law. In addition to law, he has a degree in engineering and has worked extensively in the communications and technology industries. Hamish leads Truman Hoyle’s Information, Communications and Technology Practice and advises on commercial issues, regulatory matters and dispute work for clients engaged in all facets of the information, communications and technology industries, including intellectual property protection, licensing and distribution, confidentiality, e-commerce, security, IT procurement and outsourcing. In addition to his considerable regulatory and commercial skills, Hamish has also acted in significant litigation and mediation matters, including patent, copyright and trademark cases before the Supreme Court and Federal Court. Prior to joining Truman Hoyle, Hamish was a senior counsel with the Optus Group. He has also acted as a commercial advisor to divisional managing directors at Optus, in various roles.
